Glass Studio Rental
The studio is available for rental. Listed here are the current prices for rental of studio facilities. You can find more information about our complement of equipment on the studio tour page. We are now taking reservations for studio time, please call us for availability. If you are looking for someone to work with; drop us an email or give us a call - we can try to match you up with an assistant/partner.The rates listed are the basic rate. Discounts will be offered for large blocks of time pre-payed. These rates assume a reasonable consumption of glass. Please advise if particularly large-scale or solid work is to be made so we can schedule charging and negotiate a rate. Our rule of thumb is 10 lbs of glass per hour, with additional glass @ $2.50 per lb.
We have a total of 5 gloryholes of 3 different sizes so you can match the size to the scale of work that you are making (and we can make most economical use of natural gas.) The studio has 3 benches including a bench convertable for left-handed use.
There is a 2 hour minimum for shop/equipment rentals.

Rental Rates
Small Gloryhole |
$40/hr | The small gloryhole can accomodate work up to 10in x 18in. Reasonable annealer space and a standard annealing cycle is included in this rate. We have three gloryholes of this size available for rental. We are happy to rent this along with a larger gloryhole if you are working production style or would just prefer to have it for your assistant's use. |
Medium Gloryhole |
$45/hr | The medium gloryhole can accomodate work up to 16in x 24in. Reasonable annealer space and a standard annealing cycle is included in this rate. |
Large Gloryhole |
$55/hr | The large gloryhole can accomodate work up to 20in x 36in. Reasonable annealer space and a standard annealing cycle is included in this rate. |
Toolbox |
Provided with Rental | Our toolbox includes a full-set of well maintained and sharp Jim Moore tools. Spiral Arts Pipes are included as well. |
Garage |
$7/hr | |
Cold-Shop Rental |
$10/hr | We provide a basic cold-shop with a lap-wheel, belt sander and chop-saw. |
Sandblaster Rental |
$15/hr | |
Casting Rate |
$40/hr | 10 lbs/hour strickly enforced, including crack-off, floor models, etc. Excessive glass usage will be charged at $2.50 per lb. Renter must have an assistant or make arrangements with the studio (at additional expense). Gathering ball, ladel, bench torch, and punties are included in hourly rate. Gloryhole or glassblowing tool usage will be additional expense. |
