The Thickets are named because of the sometimes chaotic, vine-like tendrils running through their interior. These threads of color interact with plates of naturalistic color. The vessels have thick, curving walls which exaggerate the optic effects of the glass, creating reflections and refractions. After these pieces are blown, frequently they are sliced to create polished facets providing windows to the interior and altering the form.
