LAUNCH - Support for Glass Artists
East Falls Glassworks is committed to serving the Philadelphia-area glassworking community. Our studio is used by glass artists of all levels of experience, from beginning students to professional artists and craftspeople. We believe that such communities are the foundation of the arts, and we are grateful for the participation of our students, artists, teachers, employees and spectators, all of whom engage in glass as an artistic medium with a sense of fascination and awe.In an effort to strengthen the foundation of this community, we are supporting an arts advocacy project, called "LAUNCH", designed to advance the careers and better the lives of artists and craftspeople working in glass. The aim of the project to help members of our community find financial resources, continuing education opportunities, career advancement, access to healthcare, and business education. LAUNCH aims to help with anything that will help members of the glassblowing community to thrive and evolve in their personal and professional lives.
By providing this kind of support, this program will serve to foster individual growth, thus enriching the glass community in Philadelphia, and promoting glass as a medium for individual expression. LAUNCH is the center of a support network which can offer unique, specialized services, since everyone at LAUNCH works in glass and understands the needs and vocabulary of the glass artists and craftspeople. We understand the duanting challenges faced by someone starting out in glass and can help.
