Visit Our Glass Studio, Watch Live Glassblowing

We welcome the public to visit us any time we are working and watch us transform molten glass into works of art. The studio is set up with a designated viewing area and we offer a special 'behind-the-scenes' tour between pieces. During your visit, make sure you check out the East Falls Glassworks gallery, which displays a large collection of glass art made by Philadelphia area artists. If you are looking for something for a special person, we've created a page with glass-related gift ideas.

June 14th - Open House

Our open houses are a great day to visit us at the studio. Check back for the open house schedule, but they are generally every other month on the second saturday. In addition to our open house, there are usually lots of other events going on at Sherman Mills that you can enjoy. The open house starts around noon and wraps up around 6:00.
  • Seconds Sale: A table will be set up with lots of East Falls Glassworks glass art at 'bargain basement' prices. These are one-of-a-kinds and items with small flaws.

Here are some glass blowing pictures from a recent open house.

    Elio Quarisa in Philadelphia

Our first master glass blowing class, taught by Maestro glassblower Elio Quarisa, was an unqualified success. We've put together a page about the class with pictures and more information about both Maestro Quarisa as well as the class proceedings. We've also posted pictures of some the glass art that Maestro Quarisa made during the class.

    Sherman Mills Arts Council

Sherman Mills Arts Council The complex where we are located, Sherman Mills is a 19th century textile mill that is undergoing a transformation into a vibrant, diverse artists' community. There are 40+ artist studios in the complex, include sculptors, painters, stained glass artists, warm glass artists (slumping and fusing), potters, weavers and others. Sherman Mills is the 2nd largest group of artist studios in Philadelphia and still growing. The community of artists here is amazing. Twice seen on "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition"

Hopefully, you were able to see us and our glass art on the Emmy award winning TV series, "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition". We twice worked with Preston Sharp, a designer from the show. Most recently, we made an amazing glass and wrought iron chandelier for Kilgallon (Levittown, PA) family episode of the show. We made kites made from blown glass for the (Northeast Philadelphia) Py family. If you'd like to get more information about our glass kites, please check out the gallery page. You also can check out the Press Release announcing the studio's involvement with the show. Both were great projects and we were privileged to be twice asked to help out.

    January 7th, 2006: Grand Opening

Thanks to all who made our grand opening a huge success. We had a great crowd and lots of glass artists in attendance; it meant a lot to us to see the support from the greater Philadelphia glass blowing community (Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware).
